Buying Repo Motorcycles Can Save You $$$

Have you ever thought of looking at repo motorcycles to buy as an alternative to the normal new or used option? If you haven’t, then take my advice and check out the idea. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised with what you will find.

Not only are there repo motorcycles but also boats, cars, trucks, campers and more that can be found at auction houses around the country. These bikes and autos have usually been repossessed because people have not been able to repay their loans for what ever reason. Because of this the finance companies repossess the vehicles and then use auction houses to sell them to the highest bidder.

Often you will find these repo motorcycles, boats, cars and so on still in excellent condition when being sold at these auctions. This in itself gives you the perfect opportunity to purchase not only something at a cheaper cost but also something in good order as well.

The down side of this is that because they are sold at auction you wont have the opportunity to test drive these machines or take them to get checked out. But my suggestion is to have somebody with you who is knowledgable enough to go over it there and then to at least give it a quick check over.

You should always do your homework first before bidding on any thing so you know what is worth what. Other wise how do you know if you are getting a true bargain. Once you have done that and you are sure that you want what ever item it is being auctioned then all you have to do is bid. On most occassions you will end up with a fantastic bargain. Remember these finance companies just want their money back and are not there to make a killing.

Motorcycle Security Advice

From the comments made by my customers and the bikeing community this year I felt I had to tell you the hard facts about keeping your loved one safe.

The fact is over 36,000 bikes are stolen in the UK ever year, 80% of these from home (have you wondered why you have a garage clause on your insurance?).

When your bikes at home

Fit a ground anchor at home and an approved chain, dont think putting your car in front of the garage helps either. Ive had so many people telling me that thieves have dragged the bike over the car and this just adds insult to injury.

Dont leave your keys in an easy to find place in the house either, this is becoming more popular for stealing cars too.

Try not to leave your garage open for more than you have to, more and more thieves are “casing” your property and bikes are being stolen to order.

When returning home have a quick look who is behind you etc, im not saying to take a different route home every day and all that spy stuff but bikes are being followed.

When your out and about

Disclocks are useless, white van man is just going to pick the bike up, disclocks only stop the opportunist thief from pushing your bike away. Long shackle “U” locks are ok but remember to lock the bike to something.

A cable that you can loop around a lamppost of similar is the best bet, high security chains can be heavy to carry constantly and a cable type is much lighter.

Consider getting an additional chain for say outside work and just leave it outside so you dont have to carry it.

Alarms

Alarms I think come into the “tree falling in the woods” category, if there is no one to hear it whats the point. Even when people do hear the alarm it gets ignored.

Consider fitting a paging alarm, these are getting cheaper all the time. Talking alarms are better than sirens, people tend to listen more a human voice.

I hope this has given you food for thought and if you have any questions or just need some advice, contact me via the site below

Motorcycle Road Trips in North Florida: Jax Beach to Fernandina

With bike week just around the corner, bikers from all over the country are pulling their motorcycles out of winter storage and cleaning up their leathers in anticipation of a motorcycle rally like no other. While Daytona is definitely the place to be the week of March 5th, Florida offers some great stretches of road through pristine landscapes to some great biker destinations.

About an hour and a half north of Daytona on A1A lies the bustling beach community of Jacksonville Beach, which is where we will meet for the start of our road trip- because, well, that’s where I’m from! On any given day you’ll find bikes and bikers parked and hanging out at the Jax Beach Pier parking lot. Just across the street is the famed biker bar Mango’s, a great place for bikers to meet, have some good home cooking and shoot some pool. Summer weekends will generally find some heavy metal band performing outside on the covered deck. So put on your best leather motorcycle jacket and come on out to Mango’s to start our first north Florida road trip.

Our first day trip will start from Jax Beach and head north on A1A to Fernandina Beach, a quaint little island town with its own unique attitude. If you follow A1A north, after bearing left at Mayport Naval Station, you will be cruising through the marshlands at the mouth of the St. Johns River and come to a dead end at the ferry in Mayport Village. A traditional fishing village, this is where most of north Florida gets their seafood. Shrimp boats, party boats, and deep sea charters line the docks, and you can even take a gambling cruise from here. If you’re hungry, there’s an old wooden shack sitting on the water that serves some of the best seafood available. Singletons is not much to look at, but it’s been there forever and people drive for miles to sit on the water enjoying the freshest of Florida seafood, while watching the pelicans scrounge for theirs.

Taking the ferry across the river, you’ll once again pick up A1A heading north. To your right you’ll soon see a huge barren sandbar that was formed by the northern jetties at the mouth of the St. Johns. On the eastern edge are the jetties, the Atlantic Ocean, and a beach that is packed with babes of all shapes and sizes. The western side has a lagoon and the Fort George River inlet. A very wide beach at low tide, vehicles have been swallowed up and swept away by the Atlantic because of people parking just a little too close to the water, and taking a walk in the dunes. A great place for jet skiing, swimming, fishing and surfing, Huguenot Park also has a campground with primitive and RV camp sites and showers.

Discount Motorcycle Tires

One of the most common types of vehicle found on the road today is the motorcycle. Owners often complain about the wearing away of tires, which seems to happen faster than their car counterparts. Many attribute faster wear and tear to the type of rides that these tires have to endure. But since these tires are giving in fast, it becomes a problem to find a cheaper alternative every time.

Discount Motorcycle Tires have thus caught the attention of motorcycle owners. This is also one category which is witnessing remarkable growth. The surge in demand is mostly due to the large number of bikes that are being added every year. In order to cope with enhanced demand, the tire companies are ready to enhance the output in their assembly lines.

An easy way to get discount motorcycle tires is to order them online. However, after purchase, one may have to wait for some time for the tires to be shipped to your place. Unlike other categories of Discount Tires, many suppliers here operate with low budgets and do not allow customers to pick up their tires from them.

As with other categories, one can choose the price range, color, finish, size and type of tires. According to the speed index, usage and load index and rim size, one can get a range that can suit every need.

The Discount Tire shops also offer very attractive packages in terms of pricing, which are often hard for the customer to resist. If you are lucky, you may even get some good tips on tire maintenance from the store.

Is Wearing Motorcycle Helmets Helpful?

A helmet protects your head and your face from injuries. It is very helpful while you ride your motorcycle or bicycle. It is necessary that you buy the right helmet for your safety. There are various brands available and selecting the best one is very difficult.

Never think that a helmet could save you from accidents as most of the people who wear the helmets drive their vehicle very fast. A vehicle is made for your convenience in traveling and not to drive at a speed, which is dangerous for you. The main aim of a helmet is to save you from head and facial injuries, to protect against too much external sound and also to make your ride comfortable.

The person wearing a helmet should feel comfortable and his head should perfectly fit in the helmet. The internal material of the helmet should have proper cushion. The person should feel as if he is not wearing the helmet.

The internal structure of the helmet should be designed well. There are various points in the helmet that should have proper cushions to give you the required comfort and safety. The chin-strap should be easy to use and comfortable. The helmets should also absorb the sweat and not make the inside of the helmet too hot. The ventilation system should be good in the helmet. There should be a little vacant area near the ears so that you can wear sunglasses or normal glasses. The weight of the helmet should be right, so that your neck feels comfortable. If your new helmet is heavy, then in some days you will get accustomed to it, but it could cause neck pain in the long run, so buy one that is not too heavy.
