More Power Given To Land Rover SUVs

Statistics have shown that more and more Americans are opting to purchase those huge vehicles that they find in the market. In fact, despite the high gas and fuel prices, Americans have chosen the huge vehicles like those pick up trucks and those sport utility vehicles. This just simply goes to show that the consumers are up for the sporty appeal rather than looking at the expenses of driving.

One of the brands that offer sport utility vehicles in the auto market is the luxury brand Land Rover. And aside from being known as the manufacturer of SUVs, this vehicle brand is also much known for the type of SUVs that it offers the market. Sure, the products under the Land Rover brand are not just any kind of SUV. They are actually remarkable and very luxurious SUVs that their products become the first choice of people who are out to purchase such a type of vehicle. And for those who would like to journey to locations far and distant, most would rather use their Land Rover SUVs for these offer them great comfort – during on road travels or even through off road adventures.

And for this season of fall, the brand would soon be bestowing its range of exemplary SUVs with more power. And the power would be coming from the two new engine options for their customers. One of the new engines is a supercharged V8 engine that has the capacity to produce a high of 400 units of horsepower. In fact, it would also be even quite surprising if the whole vehicle does get new Land Rover electrical parts, mechanical parts, or even Land Rover mechanical engine parts at that. Sure, such would actually give the vehicle a further boost in power, performance, and handling.

Aside from this, the SUVs would also be receiving a complete interior change. Take a look and you would most certainly see that the dashboard has been changed with a combination of wood and metal trims. There are also new twin glove boxes and some cup holders. The center console has also been simplified so much so that you can use it without ever having to check the car owner’s manual.

Plus, the vehicles would also be having the Land Rover Terrain Response System as a standard feature which would surely make more faces smile. You see, this marvelous system would simply let the driver turn on a knob and then choose which of the five settings would be best so as to keep the vehicle’s power train, suspension, and electric systems at top. The system would also check which should be the best type of setting during the present driving condition.

Top Truck and SUV Accessories

If you own a pickup truck or SUV chances are your vehicle looks quite a bit different than from the day that you bought it home from the dealership. I’m not talking about wear and tear, scratches or dings, or any other thing that may have happened to it over the course of time. Rather, I am suggesting that you have customized it to look the way you want it to look. Let’s take a peek at some popular accessories on the market for pickups as well as for SUVs.

There are literally hundreds of after market parts and accessories available for trucks and SUVs. The following list is an alphabetical example [well, almost] of add-ons for your consideration:

Air Filter – Reusable air filters are growing in popularity as motorists see both the performance and environmental benefits of using one.

Bed Mats – Scratches and stains are a thing of the past with a properly installed bed mat on any pickup truck.

Car Bras – Also known as hood protectors, many truck and SUV owners are opting for this important accessory to keep their vehicles free from flying debris as well as to give their vehicle a custom look.

Dog Box – Even poochie needs his place. Especially a great idea for protecting your GMC Yukon from pet hair and dander.

Engine Module – Looking for more power? An engine module will allow your truck or SUV to obtain higher horsepower and acceleration.

Fender Flares – Going for a custom look? If so, fender flares are the way to go and they offer additional coverage for the fender area too.

Grille Guard – Especially helpful if you have to round up cattle or want to offer extra special protection to your front end.

Hitch – Great for towing!

Intake Tube – More air for your engine, means more power.

Jumper Cables – You never know…

Knock Sensor – Not really an accessory, but listed because I needed a “K” to complete the example.

Liquid Tank – When you just have to keep it all cool…

Mud Flaps – A cool as well as useful accessory to keep your wheels looking great.

Nerf Bars – Tubular free form bumpers beat out stock bumpers every time.

Overhead Storage – Hey, you have to store your firearms somewhere, don’t you?

Performance Chip – A great way to crank out more horsepower and thrust.

Q – Not much use for this letter, is there?

Running Boards – Sometimes you need something more than a pole vault to enter your 4 x 4.

Seat Covers – Custom fitted seat covers can protect your seats from rips, tears, and stains.

Tailgate Door – Remove the door and go with the net. Keeps everything in its place.

Umbrella – You’ll need one to get from your truck to your home.

Vent Visor – Keeps the water from drenching you while exiting your GMC Suburban.

Winch – You just never know when you’ll get stuck…

X+Y+Z - Okay, close enough. They don’t name hurricanes with these letters, so why should accessories be any different?

If you were to fully accessorize your truck or SUV with all of these parts you would pay thousands of dollars for the privilege. Your vehicle would also look overdone too! Of course, it would be better for you to be selective and choose those accessories that mean the most to you. Shop an online wholesaler of automobile parts and accessories for the best prices too.

2006 SUVs Have Great Incentives, as 2007 Models Move Into the Showrooms

Every year about this time automotive dealers around the country start getting in the latest new models for the next year. And every year they offer incentives to get rid of the prior year’s models. This is happening right now as the 2006 models go on sale to make way for the 2007 models, which will be moving into the showrooms at the auto dealerships. Unfortunately many of these sales incentives have sparked new interest in SUVs and that means people are now interested in the new 2007 SUVs as well.

You may be thinking that this is great; I’d like to go look at the new 2007 models. Indeed, and perhaps you would however, there is another problem these incentives are hurting the biofuel initiatives set forth to help America a breaker addiction to foreign oil. The government of the United States of America is set on growing her own fuel. Such sales incentives can spark a renewed competitive response and price war between automakers and in this means more cars will be in demand, which are gas guzzling.

With greater consumer demand for SUVs this will cause lower profits in other models and hybrids, mean there will be less research and development dollars for these new technologies and it that includes alternative fuel vehicles as well. Currently both General Motors and Ford Motor Co. are building E85 Ethanol vehicles, but unfortunately they are building more regular gasoline models to meet demand. This is slowing the progress of the plan to switch to more biofuels and it is adding time to the future changing of the trends needed for America to breaker addiction to foreign oil. Please consider this in 2006.

BMW 530xi: An Alternative to SUVs

Are you looking for all the advantages of an SUV but in a smaller package? BMW may have the answer in the form of its 2006 BMW 530xi wagon. The 2006 model of the wagon is the first 5 series wagon offering from BMW in two years.

The 530xi is almost a hybrid of the 530i and X3 or X5. The wagon utilizes a similar all wheel drive system from their popular SUV and attaches that to their 255hp 3L inline 6 cylinder engine. Weighing in at more than 4000 lbs, the wagon is considerably heavier than the sedan version. BMW has attributed this to the all wheel drive system and the redesigned body.

The 530xi comes standard with Bluetooth wireless technology, all season traction, dynamic stability control, dynamic brake control and other BMW systems. Starting at $51,400, a consumer can easily run the car price north of $60,000 with options. As usual with BMW, most everything is an option and those options do not come cheap.

Even though the 530xi cannot compete with the 530i in performance or fuel economy, it is still a model to consider. Most consumers looking to buy the wagon will be comparing it to an SUV like the X5. In that instance, the wagon performs much better than the X5 in the same categories. Most SUV owners do not go off-road so the 530xi wagon should satisfy all their needs.

Are SUVs Really That Bad On Gas?

More people in the United States are complaining about gas prices than ever before. There are people trading in their large vehicles for smaller options just so they can afford to drive to work and back. However, when you think about it, are SUVs and other large vehicles really that bad on gas?

The answer lies largely with the individual owner. It really depends on how much you love your car. Those SUV owners who really didn’t care to drive a smaller car would tell you that their larger vehicles are too expensive to drive. While it is true that they do cost more to fill up, they are not that much different in all actuality. That is, unless you are driving a four cylinder car that will drive you around the world on one tank of gas.

If you love your SUV however, you will likely think it is well worth the extra gas cost. No matter what you are driving right now, you are paying more than you are used to paying for gas. Therefore, no matter what you drive, you are feeling the negative impact from the high gas prices. So, while some think SUVs are hard on gas, others think of it as a normal part of life.
